Dr Kamau is  an ICT professional with over 25 years’ experience in the ICT industry with over half of these years in management. He has work experience at operational, middle and senior management level. Dr Kmau has worked in public, private, NGO sectors and in academia as a part-time/adjunct lecturer in several universities in ICT and business management courses for about 10 years.

He has been involved in IS and management consultancy work for evaluation, designing and implementing ICT and management solutions and IT service delivery strategies for various organizations and more recently as health informatics consultancies and technical working groups with MoH Kenya and Uganda.

He has a keen interest in applying ICTs in addressing various business-related challenges. He believes proper engagement between ICT and business, appropriate business/IT alignment can be achieved, and this has the potential to sustainably improve business performance through digital transformations. For this to happen, IT and business has to work as a team in building organizational IT capabilities that is a requisite to guarantee business value of IT. In an effort to understand the pervasiveness of ICT application in business operations, Dr Kamau did a Ph.D. thesis on IS integration, IT capability and organizational performance that has given him a deeper knowledge and understanding in this area. He also has a keen interest in this research area in pursuit of how to leverage organizational performance on the ever-changing ICTs technologies. In recent years his area of interest and focus has been more on healthcare digital transformation.
